Ingredients

  • 250 g Fresh gyros or the rest of the fried food from the day before
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 clove Chinese garlic or 2 other solo cloves
  • 150 g Ripe tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Chopped herbs - here parsley, cress, oregano
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 150 ml Water
  • 200 g Sour cream or creme fraiche
  • 200 ml Cream
  • 2 tbsp Tzatziki
  • Pepper salt
  • 6 Lasagne sheets without pre-cooking
  • 2 tbsp Oil for frying
  • Gratinated cheese - here Gauda donated

Instructions

  • 1st note: The recipe for us was enough for three people - but we are also not for such large portions, as you now know ... so I preferred to give it for 2 people. ;-))) Fry the seasoned gyros meat in oil until crispy. Put aside. (Or the rest of yesterday's gyros, as with my recipe).
  • Cut the onion into small cubes and finely chop the garlic. Cut the tomatoes very small. Chop the herbs.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and first roast the onion and the garlic in it until translucent. Add the tomatoes and sweat with them. Deglaze with the water and sprinkle in the herbs and sugar. Let everything simmer for about 10 minutes. Add tomato paste and simmer. Add the gyros and mix them all well.
  • Make the sauce: Mix the sour cream with the cream, the tzatziki and the spices until smooth and season to taste.
  • Grease a baking dish and cover the bottom with the sauce. Place two lasagne sheets next to each other on top. Put the meat mixture on top. Put a little sauce on the meat mixture. Then lasagne sheets again. Repeat and finish with gyros and sauce. Top with the rest of the sauce. Cover with cheese and decorate with tomatoes if necessary.
  • Baked in the oven with top / bottom heat for about 45 minutes at 180 degrees. Very, very juicy and delicately spicy! Bon Appetit!
  • Note 7: I divided the recipe into two casserole dishes because my husband should also get freshly made lasagna in the evening - it doesn't taste that good when it is warmed up. So don't be surprised at the pictures. ;-)))
