Instructions
- Whether gingerbread men or Aachener Printen - the sweet and strongly seasoned pastries come in many shapes and variants. In many cultures, gingerbread is an integral part of Christmas biscuits, but bakers consider gingerbread to be long-life baked goods. The production has a long tradition and is part of the local baking culture in many places.
- In addition to traditional production, there is also an increasing number of vegan gingerbread cookies made with applesauce. A delicious plant-based alternative that belongs on every vegan's Christmas plate!
Vegan gingerbread with applesauce:
- Mix the apple puree and sugar until the sugar has dissolved. Add cocoa powder and gingerbread spice.
- Knead the spelled flour, wholemeal spelled flour, ground almonds and margarine with the applesauce mixture to form a dough. If the batter is too firm, add a little more applesauce.
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat.
- Roll out the dough about 0.8 cm on a floured surface and cut into gingerbread men or other shapes.
- Place the gingerbread cookies on a baking tray with baking paper and bake for about 10 minutes at 180 ° C.
