Famous nutritionist and therapist Tamara Pruntseva explains in detail whether potatoes are healthy, whether they can be eaten without restrictions, and what methods of cooking this product are best.

“A healthy person can eat potato dishes even every day, it won’t do them any harm,” says Pruntseva. You just need to avoid overeating in the evenings and make sure that your physical activity matches your diet,” she said.

Pruntseva says that potatoes contain many vitamins. For example, 400 grams of this product can meet a person’s daily requirement for vitamin C, the nutritionist said. In addition, tubers contain proteins, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. They also contain carbohydrates, but people with diabetes should not completely give up potatoes.

“The starch contained in potatoes takes a long time to digest, which helps to avoid blood sugar spikes,” Pruntseva explained.

Ultimately, the nutritionist advised boiling potatoes in a little water or baking them in their skins.
