According to nutritionist Lidia Kvashnina, cranberries contain at least very useful acids for the body: citric, malic, succinic, and oxalic acids
Cranberries are an excellent tool for the prevention of urinary tract infections. This berry, thanks to special substances in its composition, blocks bacteria on the mucous membranes and also slows down their reproduction. This was told by nutritionist Lidia Kvashnina.
First of all, she says, cranberries are useful for their antioxidant properties, reduce the activity of chronic inflammation, and prevent the development of malignant tumors. Cranberry juice has the highest concentration of antioxidant substances.
Several studies have confirmed that cranberries effectively reduce the risk of gastrointestinal diseases.
In addition, the fruits contain beneficial acids: citric, malic, succinic, and oxalic – and a large number of pectins (which remove harmful substances from the body) compared to other berries. Of the vitamins – in addition to vitamin C – it contains groups B and K1. And their amount is comparable to the content of citrus fruits.
