These pears are from a local orchard near my apartment. The fruit belongs to the community and you are allowed to pick as much of it as you like. See pictures. Unfortunately, hardly anyone takes advantage of this. The trees (cherries / plums, pears, apples, mirabelle plums) are overflowing. People prefer to buy their fruit in the supermarket.
Peel the pears, cut into halves and remove the core. Then the pears (they weren't quite ripe yet) approx. Let simmer for 10 minutes until soft. I flavored the water a little with pear brandy.
Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs into a creamy mixture. Gradually stir in the flour.
Distribute the dough evenly on a baking sheet.
Spread the pear halves on top and press lightly. Drizzle each half of the pear with three drops of pear brandy.
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees on the middle rack for about 35-40 minutes. If you like, you can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar after it has cooled down.
