Rest Time30 minutes
Total Time1 hour 50 minutes
Servings: 1 people

Ingredients

Decoration for both types:

  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Egg size L.
  • 1 Egg yolk (egg white see decoration)
  • 350 g Wheat flour type 550
  • 1,5 Pck. Baking powder
  • Brown sugar
  • 150 g Dark couverture
  • 1 tsp struck Coconut oil
  • 40 g Chocolate sprinkles
  • 40 g Desiccated coconut
  • 1 Shaker Mini dinos for sprinkling optional
  • Egg white for brushing

Instructions

  • 1 .... finally vaccinated and again "grandchildren alarm" ...; -))) ... it will be ... slow, but it will ...... and nothing is more fun than for they bake something ... right?

Dough and both types:

  • Cut the butter into large cubes and roughly mix with all the other ingredients using the dough hook of the hand mixer. Place the crumbly dough on the work surface, knead it with your hands to form a smooth dough and then cut it in half. Do not dispose of the leftover egg white, it will be used later for brushing.
  • Spread a large piece of cling film for one half on the work surface and sprinkle it thickly with brown sugar. Shape the half of the dough into a roll with a diameter of 5 cm, roll it thoroughly in the sugar, then wrap it with the cling film and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, line the tray with baking paper or foil for the hedgehog cookies. Preheat the oven to 180 ° O / bottom heat. Then roll out about 27 small balls of approx. 15 g from the 2nd half of the dough and place them on the tray with a gap. Then shape a point on one side of all of them (with the thumb and forefinger of one hand) and plate them a little. Then slide the tray into the oven on the 2nd rail from below. The baking time is 10 minutes.
  • During this time, line 3 additional documents with parchment paper or foil, take the sugared rolling pin out of the refrigerator, cut it into approx. 5 - 6 mm thick slices and spread these over all the bases with a greater distance. Now whip the egg white with a hand whisk until it has small bubbles, then brush the blanks with it and immediately sprinkle the decorative dinosaurs thickly on top. At best only 4 pieces so that the egg white does not dry out and the decoration also sticks. Instead of the dinosaurs, you can of course use a different decoration ..... it's just grandson's favorite animal at the moment ... ;-)))
  • When the hedgehogs have baked off, bake the cookies one after the other - also on the 2nd shelf from the bottom - for 10 minutes. If you have air circulation and several trays, you can of course bake several at the same time. Then the number of degrees of the furnace should be 160 °. After baking, let it cool down on a rack and only then peel it off.
  • While the hedgehogs are cooling, melt the couverture and coconut oil over the water bath and mix the chocolate sprinkles and desiccated coconut in a bowl. Then dip the back part of the hedgehog 2/3 in the couverture, roll it immediately in the crumble and set it down on a surface. When everyone is ready, use a wooden stick to put on their eyes and noses and let the hedgehogs set in a cool environment. ......
  • The baking time below relates to the use of O / bottom heat. The above-mentioned number of people refers to a hedgehog portion of 27 pieces and dinosaur cookies of approx. 30 pieces.
