Vegan banana caramel spread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 banana(s), ripe
  • 1 tsp, heaped coconut oil
  • 3 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

enough for about 3 loaves of bread

First, peel the banana and mash it with a fork until it’s as lump-free as possible. Then, heat the fat and sugar in a small saucepan without stirring until the sugar turns light brown (but don’t let it get too dark). Reduce the heat slightly and quickly stir in the banana puree. Don’t worry if lumps of caramel form! Just keep heating and keep stirring. This will dissolve the lumps of caramel and the puree will become firmer. When the consistency is right and there are no more lumps, remove from the heat and enjoy. Of course, you can also make more of this delicious spread in advance and store it in the refrigerator.
