It’s quick, tastes delicious and is inexpensive

Clean the Brussels sprouts and cut a cross in the stalk. Finely dice the onions. Sauté the Brussels sprouts, onions, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and Aromat or Fondor in 250 ml of water for about 20 minutes. Don’t discard the cooking broth! Dice the bacon, fry it in a pan, and sear it lightly. Remove from the pan. Lightly brown the flour in the bacon fat, pour in 125 ml of water and the Brussels sprout broth, simmer for about 5 minutes, and add the cream. Stir in the fried bacon and season to taste. Pour the sauce over the Brussels sprouts. Served with boiled potatoes, this makes a delicious and inexpensive main course.
