Festive Curd Tart

The perfect festive curd tart recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 160 g Wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 100 g Semi-Fat margarine
  • 3 middle Eggs
  • 4 drops Liquid sweetener
  • 6 drops Vanilla flavor
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 480 g Quark (10% fat in dry matter)
  • 40 g Custard powder
  • 30 g Sugar brown raw sugar
  • 30 g Sugar white
  • 1 size Tart pan (28 cm diameter)

For the dough:

  1. Mix wheat flour and baking powder, quickly knead with margarine, an egg, sweetener, vanilla flavor and salt to form a smooth dough. Wrap in foil and refrigerate for about half an hour.
  2. Roll out the well-cooled dough thinly between cling film, cover a large tart pan lined with baking paper with it. Prick several times with a fork and prebake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.

For the filling:

  1. Mix the quark, remaining eggs, custard powder and white sugar until smooth, spread on the base and bake for another 30 minutes. Sprinkle the tart with brown sugar and briefly gratinate under the grill until the sugar has melted.
