Boiled Ribs with Cabbage and Puree

The perfect boiled ribs with cabbage and puree recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Pork ribs
  • 1,5 liter Water
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Quartered onion
  • 1 Spring onion
  • 1 Carrot cut in half lengthways
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoon Vinegar
  1. Rinse the ribs under cold water and cut into two parts. Bring the water with salt, onions, carrots, bay leaves, peppercorns and vinegar to the boil and place the pieces of meat in it. Bring to the boil briefly, reduce the heat and cover with a lid and cook for about 60 minutes.
  2. Pull the rib bones out of the meat and serve the meat with sauerkraut and puree. A lot of (almost all imaginable) sauces go well with it … I still had a leftover pepper sauce from the holidays – that also went very well.
  3. The recipe for sauerkraut is already here in the cookbook: Sauerkraut – simple, tasty and very good
