Mon Cheri Buttermilk Cake
The perfect mon cheri buttermilk cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 Cup Food starch
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 1 Pck. Chocolate pudding powder
- 1 Pck. Baking powder
- 1 package Powdered sugar
- Kirsch
- 14 Mon Cheri
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix the flour, cornstarch, sugar, buttermilk, custard powder and baking powder well together.
- Grease the wreath cake or bundt cake tin. Pour in half of the dough and place 7 Mon Cheri at a distance. Pour the rest of the dough over it and form for 45 minutes on the lowest rail in the oven.
- When baking, the Mon Cheri’s sink to the bottom. Do not let the cake cool down completely after baking, turn it out. Some of the chocolate mass gets stuck in the mold. Simply scrape it out with a spoon and spread it on the cake surface with a moistened knife.
- Now carefully mix the icing sugar with enough kirsch until a thick glaze is formed. Pour this over the cake so that it runs down tough. Finally, put the remaining Mon Cheri’s on top, let everything set, done.
- This is not a children’s cake, but I think you can replace the Mon Cheri’s with chocolate bons and mix the topping with juice.
- Bon appetit ………………
