Eating after vomiting: That works

You should not eat again until an hour later after vomiting. Give yourself and your stomach time to recover after throwing up. In any case, drinking chamomile tea and taking electrolytes can help .

  • Staying hydrated is essential to get your circulation going again after you throw up.
  • When it comes to food, you should only eat digestible foods. Soups are good for this. A potato soup or vegetable broth are ideal for this.
  • Equally good are mashed potatoes, soft rusks, pretzels and soft steamed vegetables. Carrots, fennel, zucchini and spinach are suitable vegetables here.
  • You can also eat lean meats like chicken. Rice or noodles go well here as a side dish. You shouldn’t eat too much of the latter though.
  • In any case, avoid overly greasy, spicy or sour foods. These are not good for the sensitive stomach.
