Vegan products at McDonald’s: an overview

The selection of vegan products at McDonald’s is not large, but it is there.

  • You can confidently enjoy McDonald’s fries in German branches. In addition to potatoes and vegetable fats, dextrose is also used to create a golden yellow color and disodium diphosphate is also used as a preservative. However, neither is a problem for vegans.
  • Curly fries and American fries can also be eaten. Another small note: In the USA, beef flavoring is used to season the fries – so not vegan.
  • The fast-food chain also has a vegan salad in its range: the Snack Salad Classic.
  • Vegans can also eat the apple pie without having to have a bad conscience.
  • McDonald’s does not add ingredients to the fruit that are unacceptable for vegans. So you can choose between the organic apple bag, the piece of melon or the fruit nonsense.
  • There is now also a vegan burger: the Big Vegan TS. As a meat substitute, this contains a patty made from water, soy protein, vegetable oils and wheat protein. Various plant concentrates made from paprika, carrots and beetroot also provide the reddish colour.
