Buttermilk bean soup as I like it best

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 jar white beans (720 g)
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 1 cup sour cream (200 g)
  • 2 potatoes
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp, sautéed marjoram
  • Allspice
  • n. B. onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Prepare the potatoes as boiled potatoes. Meanwhile, rinse the white beans in a sieve under running water and let them drain. Once the potatoes are cooked, drain the cooking water, then add the white beans, buttermilk and sour cream. Season with salt, marjoram and allspice. Simmer everything together for 10 minutes. Caution: The onion is not used at this point. Never add it to the pot, as this will spoil the taste of the delicious soup. Cut the raw onion into thin rings and, if desired, add it to the plate shortly before serving. Children also love this soup, but usually only without the onions. If you can wait, put the soup in a cool place overnight. This will make it even more enjoyable!
