Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg pork fillet(s)
  • 2 small cans of beans (white giant beans)
  • 1 small can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 250 g cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp oregano, shredded
  • 2 tsp thyme, shredded
  • 2 tsp basil, shredded
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • ½ tsp spice(s) (gyro spice)
  • 2 tsp garlic, granulated
  • salt and pepper
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cl ouzo

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the pork fillet, remove the tendons, and cut into approximately 1.5 cm thick slices. Lightly pound, season with pepper, and fry in a pan with olive oil, adding salt. Meanwhile, thinly slice the onion and place it in a casserole dish along with the beans. Add the pork fillet. Deglaze the pan juices with cream and milk. Then add the tomatoes, spices, ketchup, and ouzo and bring to a boil briefly, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the sauce into the casserole dish with the other ingredients and sprinkle with Gouda cheese. Bake in the oven at 200°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes. Serve with potatoes or French fries.
