Spargeltarzan – puff pastry sticks with asparagus and bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, green
  • 150 g smoked bacon
  • 30 g Parmesan
  • 1 pack of puff pastry, rectangular, from the refrigerated section
  • some salt
  • 4 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Wash the asparagus, peel some of the ends, trim any woody ends, and boil in salted water for about 10 minutes until al dente. Then let cool. Cut the puff pastry into strips, depending on the number of asparagus spears. Grate the cheese. Wrap each asparagus spear diagonally with a slice of bacon, then roll in the grated cheese and then spiral into a strip of puff pastry. Finally, roll the spears in the sesame seeds. Arrange the spears on the baking sheet, leaving enough space between them. Bake at 180–200°C for 20 to 30 minutes. For even browning, turn the asparagus halfway through baking. The spears are ready when the puff pastry is cooked through.
