Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 beef steaks, approx. 3 – 4 cm thick
  • some butter for the mold
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 4 tbsp pesto, red
  • 4 tbsp pesto, green
  • some olive oil for frying
  • some salt and pepper
  • 1 bowl of cherry tomatoes
  • some Parmesan

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

quickly made, very tasty steaks

Wash the steaks and dry thoroughly. Melt the butter in a casserole dish and preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Peel and chop the garlic and onion, then mix with the pesto. Sear the steaks in a pan with olive oil for about 1 minute on each side. After cooking, place the steaks in a greased dish and season with salt and pepper. Spread with the mixed pesto. Slice the cherry tomatoes and place them on the pesto. Season again with salt and pepper. Place the steaks in the hot oven for 14-20 minutes, depending on whether you like them rare or well done. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese just before cooking. Serve with ciabatta or baguette.
