Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 ml milk
- 75 g margarine
- 75 g sugar
- 650 g flour
- 1 cube of yeast
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 50 ml milk
- 50 ml beer
- Salt, coarse
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 35 minutes
without baking soda, approx. 20 rolls
Dissolve the yeast in 250 ml of milk. Mix the yeast milk with the flour to make the dough. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size. Add the remaining milk, the margarine, the sugar, and salt. Knead the dough thoroughly and let it rest for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough. Shape the roll into rolls, each weighing 50 g. Score the tops of the rolls and brush with the egg yolk, milk, and beer mixture. Let the rolls rest for another 30 minutes, then sprinkle both sides with coarse salt. Bake the rolls for 35 minutes at 175 °C (top/bottom heat).
