Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 375 g flour, type 405
- 1 package of dry yeast, or the equivalent amount of fresh yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 175 g butter, soft
- 5 eggs
- Milk, for glazing
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
Mix the flour, dried yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the butter and eggs and knead thoroughly into an elastic dough. The dough will be quite soft, but will become more manageable as you knead it. Depending on the size of the eggs, you may need a little more flour. Place the dough in a bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour, until it has doubled in size. Punch down the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into balls. Grease a 500g loaf pan with butter. Place the dough balls next to each other, cover, and let rise for about 45 minutes. Brush the dough with milk and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 35 minutes.
