Chicken – Paprikash

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 chicken
  • 50 g smoked belly
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 can tomato(s) (Pelati, 400 g)
  • 1 tsp, heaped tomato paste
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 1 tsp, heaped paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 pinch(s) paprika powder, hot
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp, heaped spice mix (Vegeta)
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 2 dl white wine
  • 100 ml broth
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the chicken into pieces. Slice the bacon and mushrooms. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Dice the bell peppers and pelati. Sauté the onion and bacon in a little oil until translucent, then remove from the heat. Add the paprika and stir to combine. Brown the chicken pieces on all sides, then add the bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Season with pepper and Vegeta. Stir to combine, sauté briefly, and deglaze with wine. Cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Now add the tomato paste and pelati, and season with sugar to taste. Mix everything well. Combine the flour, sour cream, and broth and add to the paprika, stir to combine, and bring to a boil briefly. Best served with tagliatelle.
