Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg pumpkin flesh, ready to cook
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 250 ml meat broth or chicken broth
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the pumpkin flesh into thin pieces and drizzle with the vinegar. Peel the onions and dice roughly. Sauté the onions in the fat for 5 minutes. Add the pumpkin, pour in the broth, season, and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese before serving. Perfect with grilled meat or pan-fried dishes. Tip: You can also add tomato quarters 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time and use sour cream instead of the cheese!
