Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 2 tbsp butter
- 200 ml milk
- 100 ml cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- salt and pepper
- Cheese, grated
- Fat for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Cook the cauliflower in boiling salted water. Divide into florets and place in a greased casserole dish. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour to the butter and sauté slightly. Add the milk and cream and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20-30 minutes. Tip: If you like, you can also add fried bacon cubes to the sauce.
