Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 5 eggs (hard boiled)
  • 5 olives (black)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 10 basil leaves
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Preparation for 10 owls: Halve the hard-boiled eggs, remove the yolks from each egg and place them in a bowl. Finely chop the onion. Mash the egg yolks with a fork. Add the onion, mayonnaise, and mustard to the egg yolks, season with salt, and mix everything together. Place the egg white halves on a plate and, using a pastry syringe, fill the egg yolk mixture into the egg white holes (this will be the owl’s belly). Place half a basil leaf to the right and left of the owl’s belly (owl’s wings). Pit the olives, cut them into rings, and place two rings over each of the owl’s belly as eyes. Using the pastry syringe, fill each olive with a dollop of egg yolk mixture. Cut small dots from the remaining olives and place them in the eyes as pupils. Finally, cut small triangles from the carrots and place them under the eyes to form a nose.
