Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g green beans
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • Sea salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 2 sprigs savory or ½ tsp dried savory
  • 40 g butter or margarine

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Option 1: Clean the beans. Finely chop the onions and garlic and fry in a little butter or margarine. Add the beans and season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and savory. Pour in a little water and simmer with the lid on for 15 to 20 minutes. Option 2 (if the beans are not to be eaten immediately): Clean the beans. Bring water with a little salt to a boil. Add the beans and savory to the boiling water. To freeze, boil for 5 minutes, or for later, boil for 10 minutes without freezing. Then refresh in ice-cold water and, once cooled, freeze or refrigerate until ready to use. Then finish as in option 1. To do this, sauté finely chopped onions and garlic in butter or margarine. Then add the beans and savory and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
