Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 8 egg yolks
- 200 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- some orange peel, grated
- 160 g flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 250 g nuts (walnuts or hazelnuts), grated
- 8 egg whites
- 200 ml orange juice, for soaking
- 200 ml must (apple cider)
- 100 ml rum
- 100 g sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and orange zest until thick and foamy. Add the flour, baking powder, and nuts and stir in. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold in. Pour into a greased springform pan (26 cm diameter) and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 50 minutes. Allow to cool slightly. Then place the cake on a plate with slightly higher edges. Briefly bring the ingredients to a boil to soak and then spoon evenly over the cake. Let stand for at least a day so that all the liquid can be absorbed into the cake. Serve with whipped cream.
