fried potatoes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 large potatoes
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 dash of olive oil
  • some salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • some margarine
  • possibly garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Vegetarian

Pre-cook the potatoes (raw potatoes are not recommended). Once they are cooked, peel them. Then slice them into slightly thicker pieces if you like. Thin slices will fall apart easily and will tend to be mushy. Chop the onions finely (I prefer to dice them). If you like, you can also chop up some garlic. Heat the pan on high and melt a little margarine in it, then add the potatoes and now very important: never start stirring straight away, only toss them, otherwise the slices will fall apart into mush. After 5 minutes, reduce the heat to medium and add the onions. Toss several times over the course of about 10 minutes, then season and drizzle with a little olive oil. The potatoes should now be golden brown and have a bit of a crust. Toss for a few more minutes, adding more olive oil if necessary and fry briefly on high again.
