Mon Cherie – Cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 120 g ground almonds
  • 100 g chocolate, grated
  • 200 g confectionery (Mon Cherie)
  • 2 cl liqueur (cherry liqueur)
  • 3 cups of cream
  • 3 bags of cream stiffener

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cream the butter until fluffy. Alternately add the eggs and sugar. Stir in the sifted flour and baking powder. Stir in the almonds and grated chocolate. Melt the Mon Cherie in a double boiler and stir into the batter. Pour the mixture into a springform pan lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C for about 60 minutes. Let cool and cut in half once. Drizzle with cherry liqueur. Whip the cream with cream stiffener until stiff and stir in a small glass of cherry liqueur. Fill the base with this. Put the top on and garnish with cream on the outside. Then alternately place 1 cherry and 1 Mon Cherie on each dollop of cream. I usually use 4 tubs of cream – then I have more cream for decorating.
