Feta cheese – tomato – pan

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large beefsteak tomatoes
  • 400 g sheep’s cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest, grated
  • 50 g mixed fresh herbs (e.g. tarragon, rosemary, basil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the beefsteak tomatoes under running water, remove the stems, slice the tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper. Slice the feta cheese and season with pepper. Sort and wash the herbs, reserving some for garnish and finely chopping the rest. Finely chop the garlic cloves. Mix the olive oil with the garlic, lemon zest, and herbs. Brush aluminum dishes with the herb oil. Layer the tomatoes and cheese, brush with the remaining herb oil, and cook on the grill or in the oven for about 10 minutes. Garnish the feta cheese and tomato pans with herb sprigs and serve immediately.
