Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g white cabbage (Kabis), quartered, finely chopped
  • 100 g bacon, diced
  • ½ bunch parsley, chopped
  • 1 pack of shortcrust pastry from the refrigerated section, rolled out into a round shape
  • 150 g cheese (e.g. Gruyere), grated
  • 2 dl milk
  • 1 dl cream
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Paprika powder
  • curry powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Steam the bacon, cabbage, and parsley in a large frying pan until al dente and let cool. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Mix together the remaining ingredients except the cheese. Spread the dough in a 28cm baking pan and prick the base several times with a fork. Place the cooled cabbage on the dough and spread evenly. Sprinkle with the cheese and pour over the seasoned egg, milk, and cream topping. Bake in the center of the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes. A green leaf salad goes well with this dish. If you prefer it without bacon, simply leave it out; it will still taste delicious.
