Sweet pasta with apple compote

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g pasta, whole wheat pasta (e.g. small croissants)
  • 200 ml cream
  • 800 ml water
  • 4 tbsp pudding powder (vanilla or cream)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp honey, liquid and neutral (more if desired)
  • 4 large apples, soft/sweet
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon, small

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cook the pasta and drain well. For the sauce, mix the cream with the water. Reserve a little of it and stir in the custard powder until smooth. Bring the remaining liquid to a boil with the salt, add the dissolved custard powder, and bring to a boil briefly. Allow to cool slightly, then stir in the honey. For the compote, wash, quarter, core, and finely chop the apples. Bring a little water to a boil with the cinnamon stick, add the apple slices, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick (it can be reused when dried). Mix the pasta with the vanilla sauce and serve with the apple compote.
