Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pumpkin(s) (Hokkaido)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 piece(s) ginger root, thumb-sized
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 chili pepper(s), fresh
  • ¾ liter vegetable broth
  • 1 pinch(s) cinnamon powder
  • Coriander powder
  • nutmeg
  • Clove powder
  • pepper
  • some black cumin
  • 600 g minced beef
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Dice the pumpkin and cook it in the vegetable broth with 1/2 finely diced onion, the finely chopped garlic cloves, the finely chopped ginger, and 1/2 chili pepper. Season with cloves, cinnamon, black cumin, pepper, coriander, and nutmeg. Cook for about 30 minutes until soft. Dice the remaining onion and sauté with the other half of the chili pepper until translucent. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and fry. Add to the pumpkin and let it simmer briefly. Serve with rice, noodles, or grain side dishes.
