Ingredients

  • 250 g Elderberries, weighed
  • 1 piece Vanilla pod (pulp only)
  • 2 piece Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 200 g Brown cane sugar
  • 100 ml Water
  • 500 ml Vodka, 40%
  • 200 g Rock sugar brown
  • 100 ml Alcohol, 90%

Instructions

  • Rinse the elderberries briefly and dab well on crepe. Then pluck the berries and remove the unripe berries.
  • Put all ingredients except the vodka in a saucepan and stir, let stand for about half an hour. Then bring to the boil and simmer gently for 15 minutes. Then pour the mixture through a sieve and mash the berries with the back of a ladle.
  • Put everything back into a suitable twist-off glass and let the mixture cool down completely. Then add the vodka and shake well, put the lid on and let the berries steep for 8 weeks in a dark place. Add the candy sugar after 4 weeks. Then shake it every 3 days so that the rock candy dissolves well.
  • Now filter the berries through a paper towel, mix in the spirit and fill the finished Lilkör into decorative bottles.
