Pasigaminkite šaldyto jogurto patys: 3 skanūs receptai be cukraus

Making frozen yogurt yourself is healthier than the store-bought version. With these three recipes, the refreshing summer pleasure succeeds.

Frozen yogurt can be made quickly and easily without an ice cream maker. With these three frozen yogurt recipes, you can do this without refined sugar and offer a healthy and tasty alternative to ice cream.

The positive effect of frozen yogurt

In its pure form, the yogurt that forms the basis of the delicious ice cream contains less fat than cream ice cream and no conventional ice cream ingredients such as butter, eggs, cream, or milk. In addition, yogurt is a good source of calcium and contains healthy probiotic cultures such as lactic acid bacteria or indigestible carbohydrates such as fructose and lactose oligosaccharides, which regulate digestion and strengthen the immune system. If you combine frozen yogurt with fruit, it also becomes a delicious source of vitamins and, due to its slightly sour taste, it is particularly refreshing on hot days.

Frozen yogurt – why make it yourself?

  • In contrast to ice cream, there are no binding regulations for the ingredients of frozen yogurt. As such, store-bought frozen yogurt may contain flavorings, powders, additives, and sweeteners.
  • Especially in summer when it is very hot, the frozen yogurt vending machines for tapping yourself form a breeding ground for dangerous germs if the hoses and glands are not properly cleaned.
  • Refined sugar can be replaced with alternative and healthier sweeteners in the DIY version.
  • You can decide for yourself on the ingredients you choose and their dosage, and you have the certainty that the ingredients are far from preservatives and coloring agents.
  • In the case of lactose intolerance or a vegan diet, you do not have to do without the treat but can choose vegan soy yogurt or a lactose-free variant instead.

Frozen yogurt recipes – without sugar and ice cream maker

The basic basis: different types of yogurt

  • Greek yogurt: This is very creamy and sweeter, but also contains more calories. On the other hand, it is also rich in proteins.
  • Natural yogurt: This is the lower-fat version of Greek yogurt with 3.5% or 1.5% fat. A low-fat product is lower in calories, and the full-fat version is creamier.
  • Soy yogurt: This is a suitable alternative to yogurt in the event of lactose intolerance or a vegan diet.
Alternative sweeteners: agave syrup, rice or maple syrup, honey or birch sugar

Make frozen yogurt yourself – what should be considered?

If you put the creamy mass in the freezer to cool down, take it out every half hour and stir vigorously. This prevents the ice crystals from forming too large and the yogurt stays nice and creamy even when frozen.

If the frozen yogurt is too firm, simply leave it at room temperature for about five minutes and defrost it a little. You can find more delicious frozen yogurt recipes here.
