yeast dough. Sieve the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl. Warm the milk and sugar slightly and dissolve the butter in them. Add the yeast and stir until the yeast has dissolved.
Now add the milk-yeast mixture and the egg to the flour. Knead all ingredients into a smooth dough. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour.
Streusel: Knead all the ingredients to make a crumble. Note: Grandma's crumbles were much more voluminous.
Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Put the cubes in lemon water so that they don't turn brown while you wait.
Line a baking tray with baking paper or grease it. Knead the yeast dough well again and roll it out on the baking sheet.
Mix the ground hazelnuts with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and stir with the apples. Pour the apple mixture onto the dough and spread the crumble over it.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven (top / bottom heat) at 200 degrees on the 2nd rack from the bottom for about 35 - 45 minutes.
