קאַווע מיט אַ שאָס - דריי געשמאַק רעסיפּעס

There are many different types of coffee and every coffee lover drinks it differently. A special idea for cold days is coffee with a shot. In this article, you will learn what delicious variations there are and how to prepare them.

Probably the most famous coffee with a shot – Irish Coffee

Irish Coffee: As the name suggests, this popular coffee classic with a shot of schnapps comes from Ireland. It was invented there in 1970 at an airport. When guests from the USA could not fly due to bad weather, they got a newly created and warming drink in a restaurant. Irish coffee was born. However, the recipe didn’t spread until years later. This variation, known worldwide, is now on the menu in most cafes and restaurants. However, you can also imitate it at home.

  1. To make the delicious variation you need Irish whiskey, sugar, hot filter coffee, and whipped cream.
  2. First, brew a cup (about 250 milliliters) of strong coffee. This is filled into a heat-resistant glass, Irish coffee glasses, or a simple cup.
  3. Add a teaspoon of brown sugar and 35 milliliters of whiskey to the hot coffee and mix well.
  4. The whipped cream is then carefully poured over the drink. The layer should be about two centimeters high and not mix with the coffee, because the Irish coffee is drunk through the cream.
  5. The delicious and warming classic is ready.

The sweet variant – diplomatic coffee

If you like your coffee a little sweeter with a shot, the diplomat coffee is a good choice. This recipe is also ready to serve in no time at all and is a delicious way to spice up your coffee with alcohol.

  1. For the diplomatic coffee, you only need coffee, whipped cream, eggnog, and something to garnish. Cocoa powder or grated chocolate, for example, are suitable here.
  2. First, brew a cup of strong filter coffee. Alternatively, coffee crema also goes very well.
  3. Then pour three centiliters of eggnog into a cup and pour the coffee over it. Depending on the size of the cup, the amount of eggnog can of course vary.
  4. Finally, the whole thing is crowned with a cream topping. For decoration, you can add some cocoa powder or chocolate sprinkles to the cream.
  5. If the coffee with cream is too sweet for you, you can easily change the recipe. Simply replace the cream with milk foam and then garnish with cocoa powder.

Coffee with Rum – Pharisees

Another tasty coffee specialty is called Pharisee. This recipe is perfect for those who don’t like eggnog. This is replaced here by rum.

  1. For the sweet pharisee, you will need rum, sugar, whipped cream, and of course coffee.
  2. First, the coffee is strongly brewed and poured into a cup.
  3. Add a teaspoon of sugar to the hot coffee. Mix it all up well so that the sugar dissolves.
  4. Then 4 centiliters of rum are stirred into the sweet coffee.
  5. Finally, add a portion of whipped cream to the coffee.
  6. Similar to Irish coffee, the Pharisee is drunk with the cream and not stirred.
