Recipe for scones: the ingredients at a glance
You don’t need any fancy ingredients for the scones. As a rule, you should already have everything at home. The following recipe makes 15 to 20 scones, depending on size.
- 500 גראַמז מעל
- 130 גראַמז צוקער
- 130 גראַמז פון פּוטער
- 2 פּאַקאַץ באַקינג פּודער
- 1 יי יאָוק
- 150 מילאַליטערז פון מילך
Instructions: Bake your own scones
- Put the flour, sugar, butter, and baking powder together in a bowl and mix the dough with the dough hook.
- After a short while, add the milk and knead the dough well.
- Flour the work surface and roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2 cm.
- Cut out the scones and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The original is always round.
- Mix the egg yolks with a small dash of milk and brush the mixture over the scones.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top/bottom heat or 175 degrees convection and leave the pastries in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Let the scones cool down and serve them with tea with some jam or clotted cream.
- Note: Clotted Cream is reduced and therefore very greasy whipped cream. The production is relatively complex and takes several hours. However, you can easily buy them online.
