Yellow or orange?

If you want to detox, you should enjoy plenty of pineapples – after all, potassium has a draining effect. You can eat yellow fruits like pineapple on their own, in a delicious fruit salad, or as an ingredient in a healthy smoothie. And pineapple can also end up on the grill or in hearty dishes. How about, for example, sliced ​​​​meat with pineapple?

Apples

Apples are certainly at the top of any list of the popularity of different types of fruit. Yellow fruits such as Elstar or Golden Delicious get their color from the fact that they contain the natural pigment carotene, which is converted in the body into vitamin A, which is important for vision. They usually taste really nice and sweet and can be eaten on their own or used in a variety of ways in the kitchen. Apricot

With its velvety skin, the apricot looks like the little sister of the peaches. However, the flesh of the juicy peaches is rather dry and mealy. Apricots are great for making jam. But even as dried fruit, they are no strangers to us. But the little apricot can also do a lot for our health. Packed with vitamins and minerals, it strengthens our hair and nails, stimulates our circulation, and helps with migraines and headaches. Fancy apricots? Bananas

Pears

Pears are full of vitamins and are easy to digest. There may well be one more pear. While not as low in calories as an apple, they are very low in fat. Just 0.5g fat per 100g. So let’s get to the pears. You can snack on them on your own or use them in dishes. How about a delicious pear and goat cheese tarte flambée or a sweet pear soup, for example?

Chilies

They come in many varieties, shapes, and degrees of spiciness. Some love them, others can’t handle the sharpness. Among the chili varieties, there are also some yellow ones, e.g. the habanero. It is one of the hottest chilies in the world. With a Scoville value of 300,000, it is 50 times hotter than the Jalapeno. With every type of chili, the following applies: feel it out. You can “learn” to eat spicy food and get your body used to it. When you cook chilies, always test how hot they are before adding them to your dish. Do you like spicy foods? Grapefruit

Opinions differ on this fruit. While some could spoon up a grapefruit every morning, others shy away from the bitter substances it contains. However, these make the fruit really healthy because they fight harmful bacteria and viruses and are good for the stomach and intestines. Like all citrus fruits, the fruit contains a lot of vitamin C, which is important for your immune system. If you would like to use the health-promoting effects of grapefruit, but don’t like the slightly bitter taste, you can combine the tart fruit with other varieties in a fresh fruit salad. Plums

Paprika

This vegetable gets its color from being riper than the original green variety. Mild to sweet in taste, it is rich in vitamins and a vegetable that provides beautiful splashes of color in your dishes. Vegetables have a lot to offer: in addition to vitamins, they also contain folate, potassium, and important dietary fibers. Paprika vegetables are great to eat raw, you can use them to make a delicious paprika soup, or you can stuff and stew the paprika to your heart’s content. Peach/ Nectarine

Beautiful skin, delicious core: Of course, we are talking about peaches and nectarines. Often confused but both dearly loved. The juicy fruits get you in the mood for summer and can be found in delicious drinks (have you tried our peach punch?), fruity desserts, or in an unusual salad. Peaches are also said to be real stress killers. Because the high vitamin B3 content contributes to a better mood and reduces nervousness. If you don’t like the furry skin of the peach, you can use nectarines. The fruits are also rich yellow inside and just as healthy. Nectarines strengthen eyesight with beta-carotene and vitamin A. If you want to do something for your figure, you can reach for the small yellow fruits with a clear conscience. With approx. 60 kcal per 100g they are very low in calories.

Physalis

Delicious, yellow fruits with an exotic taste, which you can snack on in between or use as an extravagant ingredient for a fine fruit salad! The fruit not only contains a lot of vitamin C but also vitamins B1 and B6, as well as iron and beta-carotene. The latter can be easily recognized by the bright color and is absolutely valuable for your health, especially for your eyesight.

Quinces

They look a bit like a cross between an apple and a pear, but they are a separate genus and a very old type of fruit. Quinces contain a lot of vitamin C and valuable minerals such as potassium, which is good for heart and muscle function. The contained fiber pectin can help you to lower your cholesterol level. The bright yellow fruit is not eaten raw as it is inedible when raw. But what to do with it? The fragrant fruit is usually processed into jelly or syrup, but it is also used in hot dishes. Quinces always look good in a stew or soup – apart from the possibility of making a cake out of them.

Tomatoes

Like peppers, this vegetable also comes in different colors. A yellow tomato tastes much milder and is easier on the stomach because it contains less acid. Whether light yellow or sunny yellow, healthy vegetables can be easily snacked on between meals, depending on their size. But it is also great in a colorful tomato salad, as a tomato ragout, or in a colorful tomato tart.

Lemons

Sour is fun – and the fruit is healthy too. The citrus fruits contain polyphenols and a lot of vitamin C, which supports your immune system and also helps with the absorption of iron. If you buy organic yellow fruit, you can use the juice and zest. Since lemons taste very sour, hardly anyone will eat them pure. To meet the vitamin C requirement, at least two lemons a day would also be necessary. In the kitchen, you can flavor water with lemons, bake cakes, and round off many dishes with a touch of acid. Zucchini

But no matter what color, zucchini strengthens our immune system, is full of calcium, iron, and vitamin A and contains healthy bitter substances. But be careful when breeding from your own seeds! Crossbreeding can occur here and poisonous pumpkin species are created. So if you come across a very bitter zucchini: just don’t eat it! When growing it yourself, it is better to use seeds and fruits from the trade or from the gardener. By the way, zucchini likes it cool. When storing, make sure the shell is undamaged and store the courgettes at 12-15°C.
