Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g date(s), dried
  • 3 egg whites
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 75 g almonds, ground
  • 75 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 100 g chocolate coating
  • n. B. Wafers

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Pit the dates and cut into thin strips. Set aside 1/4 of the strips for decoration. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, gradually adding the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Mix the date strips, ground almonds, and hazelnuts and fold into the egg white mixture. Place the wafers on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place 2 teaspoons of the date mixture on each one. Bake in an oven preheated to 170°C for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Melt the chocolate coating in a hot water bath. Use a small spoon to place a little on the tip of each date macaroon and decorate with the reserved date strips.
