Walnut macaroons with chocolate

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g walnuts
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 30 wafers

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Set aside 30 walnut halves and grind the remaining ones. Finely chop the chocolate. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, gradually adding the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Fold in one tablespoon of cocoa powder, the chocolate, and the nuts. Spread the mixture on the wafers. Dust with the remaining cocoa powder (using a sieve). Place a walnut half on each macaroon. Bake the macaroons in a preheated oven at 150°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes. The mixture yields approximately 30 macaroons.
