delicious, easy to prepare, ideal for parties and always very popular
Crumble the yeast cube and dissolve it in a cup of lukewarm water. Cut the cheese and onions into approximately 1 cm cubes. Combine the flour, cheese, onions, and salt in a large bowl, then add the dissolved yeast. Mix by hand or with a dough hook, gradually adding the remaining water until a firm dough forms (it’s better to use a little less water). Let the finished dough rise for about an hour in a warm place (e.g., in an oven at 40–50°C). Then knead it again and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (mine usually has a flatbread shape). Place a container of water in the oven. Bake at 200°C (top and bottom heat) for about an hour. Immediately remove the bread from the baking sheet and let it cool on a wire rack (with air flowing from below), as otherwise it will sweat too much and become soggy. Serve the bread with herb and/or tomato butter and enjoy the pleasure of satisfied guests.
