Party rolls with oat flakes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g flour
  • 100 g oat flakes (whole grain)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 500 g quark (herb quark), low-fat is also fine)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp milk (preferably 0.3%)
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

without added fat – but with quark

Add the ingredients one by one to a bowl and mix. Then preheat the oven to 175°C fan/convection oven. Form the dough into small to medium balls (I manage about 20 small balls!) and place them, not too close together, on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake the party rolls for about 20-35 minutes, depending on their size (my small rolls take 25 minutes until they are lightly browned all over). Tip: Eat the rolls while they’re warm (delicious with some brunch, cream cheese, or butter). I keep leftover rolls in a container and then refrigerate them. If needed, I warm them up in the toaster. I got the recipe from a bag of oatmeal, and my family loves them! Instead of herb curd, I tried them with buttermilk, but I don’t recommend this, as they become very sticky. I prefer low-fat curd (without herbs) – delicious for a sweet breakfast. I added up the calorie count and divided it by 20 (!) rolls. This gives a total of approximately 2200 kcal and 25 g of fat. So, one roll has relatively little fat, but a relatively high calorie count due to the flour. However, they fill you up quickly, and you know what’s in them.
