Gratin with spiral pasta

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g pasta (spiral pasta)
  • Salt
  • 1 small can of peas
  • 1 small can/s of carrot(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 100 g ham, cooked, in thick slices
  • 250 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 eggs
  • Pepper from the mill, black
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the instructions, rinse in ice-cold water, and drain well. Peel the onion, dice it, and sauté it in hot butter over low heat for 5 minutes. Remove the peas and carrots from the can and drain. Cut the ham into small cubes. Grease a baking dish. Mix the low-fat quark with the milk, crème fraîche, and eggs in a large bowl. Season generously with salt, pepper, and thyme. Add all ingredients and mix, then pour into the baking dish. Bake in the oven (electric stove: 180°C; gas mark 2; fan: 160°C) for 40 minutes. Serve hot from the oven. Serve with a mixed leaf salad.
