Baked mussels with mushrooms

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g mushrooms
  • 250 ml milk
  • 125 ml sweet cream
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 kg mussel(s), removed from the shells
  • 200 g grated cheese (Emmental)
  • butter
  • ½ bunch parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Clean and quarter 200g of mushrooms, fry briefly in a little butter, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Transfer to a bowl. Whisk the milk with cream, cornstarch, salt, and pepper and add to the mushrooms in the bowl. Then add the drained mussels and mix well. Place one mussel and a little mushroom sauce into each mussel shell. Place the shells on a baking sheet, sprinkle with grated Emmental cheese, and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
