for the party – prepare well

Put the milk and sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Mix the orange juice and cornstarch well. As soon as the milk boils, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the orange juice. Then simmer over low heat for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pudding has thickened. Allow to cool slightly in the pan (below 80°C). In the meantime, dissolve the gelatine in cold water according to the package instructions. Squeeze out the gelatine, dissolve it in a few tablespoons of warm pudding and slowly add it to the rest of the pudding, stirring constantly. Place the pudding in a bowl, cover immediately with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming and allow to cool completely. Chop the chocolate into small cubes and whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Mix the pudding well, carefully fold in the chocolate pieces and cream. Chill until ready to serve and decorate with chocolate sprinkles, if desired.
