Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g wholemeal flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 150 ml water, lukewarm
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • possibly caraway or dried tomatoes or herbs to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

for grilling, makes about 40 pieces

Stir the yeast into the lukewarm water and let it dissolve. Add the olive oil, salt, and, if desired, caraway seeds, dried tomatoes, or herbs to the flour. Gradually add the water and yeast. Mix everything with a hand mixer. Let the dough rise for 15 minutes. Cut off walnut-sized pieces from the dough and form them into small sticks. Let rise for 10 minutes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top and bottom heat) and bake the grissini on the middle rack for 10-15 minutes.
