Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g white cabbage, sliced
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • Caraway, whole
  • some white wine
  • 100 g bacon, diced
  • some vinegar (wine vinegar)
  • Salt and pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

perfect side dish for roast pork, smoked meat or dumplings

Sauté the finely chopped onion in oil and stir in a pinch of sugar. Add the shredded cabbage, salt, garlic, and caraway seeds, deglaze with a little white wine, and sauté until al dente. Transfer the cabbage to a bowl and season with vinegar and pepper. Fry the bacon cubes in a hot pan until crispy, pour over the cabbage, and mix everything together.
