Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 420 g flour
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 130 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), including the pulp
  • 220 g butter
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Combine all ingredients, except the powdered sugar, in a bowl and knead until smooth. Form the dough into approximately 1.5-2 cm thick rolls and refrigerate for 10 minutes, or longer if necessary. Cut the rolls into 1 cm thick slices and place them on a baking sheet. Bake the vanilla bites in a preheated oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) on medium heat for 15 minutes. Let the cookies cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
