Aunt Fini's cut cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g butter
  • 4 egg whites
  • 250 g almond(s), coarsely chopped
  • 400 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Jam, sour, e.g. currant jam

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

makes about 40 cookies

Knead flour, sugar, eggs, and butter into a smooth dough. Roll out one section and cut into strips as long as the baking sheet and about 5 cm wide. Spread the strips with your favorite sour jam. Roll the remaining dough into thin rolls. Place these on the right and left sides of the long sides of the strips and use the jam to stick them together, creating a kind of elongated bowl. Now make the mixture. Combine all the ingredients, including the egg whites, in a pan and toast until the sugar melts and forms strings. Be careful not to let it get dark, or the mixture will immediately become bitter. Pour the mixture into the prepared strips of dough. Bake everything at 170 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. After baking, cut the cookies from the long strips. Each cookie should be 1-1.5 cm wide.
