Gyros hollandaise casserole

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g gyros meat
  • 250 g pasta
  • 250 g cheese, grated
  • 350 g mushrooms
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 150 g peas, frozen
  • 600 ml hollandaise sauce
  • Thyme
  • rosemary
  • Herbs, Italian

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Quick and easy

First, clean and chop the mushrooms and bell peppers. Meanwhile, boil the water for pasta. When the water is boiling, add the pasta. Brown the gyro meat. You can either chop and season the meat yourself or buy pre-seasoned meat. When the meat is almost cooked, add the bell peppers, mushrooms, and frozen peas. Season with the herbs and a little salt and pepper. Cook the pasta until al dente, drain, and then transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top of the pasta, then spread the gyro meat and vegetables on top. Spread the hollandaise sauce, whether homemade or store-bought, over the top and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake the casserole in the oven at 180°C for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is lightly browned. This casserole tastes really great, but it’s obviously high in calories.
