KitKat Easter cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • 350 g sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 400 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g butter, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 100 g cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • Kit Kat chocolate bar
  • Desiccated coconut
  • Food coloring, green

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

Preheat oven to 170°C. Beat butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until creamy. Then gradually add the eggs and mix well. Mix in the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla. Divide the batter into 2 equal portions and bake each portion in a springform pan (diameter: 16 cm) for about 25-30 minutes. Let both cakes cool thoroughly after baking. Cut off the top layer from both cakes so that both cakes have a smooth or even surface. Then prepare the frosting: Mix the powdered sugar and butter well in a bowl. Add the vanilla and cocoa powder and continue mixing. Gradually add the milk. The frosting should have a spreadable consistency. Spread some frosting on one surface of the cake and place the other half on top. Then continue to cover all sides and surfaces with the remaining frosting. The entire cake must be covered with frosting. Decoration: Press the KitKat chocolate bars onto the frosting. Color the coconut flakes with the green food coloring. This works best in a freezer bag or similar container so the shavings are thoroughly soaked in the color. Then spread the colored shavings over the frosting to create a grassy meadow. Place the chocolate bunnies on the grass and tie a matching ribbon around the KitKat bars. You can find nice instructions with lots of pictures here on my blog.
